    NO BACTERIA SANITIZING PAINT

    In our continuous search for innovative products, we are proud to present BACFREE, a sanitizing paint that prevents the most common bacterial agents.
    This new high performance antibacterial paint guarantees the control and prevention of bacteria required on sanitary surfaces.
    These characteristics render the range of sanitizing products especially suitable for applications in operating rooms, cafeterias, kitchens and sterile environments or any other application that requires the use of sanitary materials.
    The 6/10 aluminum laminate is washable and the chemical-physical resistance of the pre-painted product is enhanced with the hygienic/sanitary properties of this superficial finish.
    The sanitizing product is available in opaque white, but can also be prepared in the most common RAL colors upon request.
    As part of our constant commitment to respect the environment and in accordance with current standards, PROFILSYSTEM exclusively uses products with lead-free paint and aluminum pretreatment systems totally free of chromium, permitting the paint to grip the support perfectly.
    Painted product samples are subjected to tests in accordance with ISO 22196:2007, at the IMSL laboratories (Industril Microbiological Service LTD, UK).
    The values express the reduction percentage of the bacterial population obtained in respect to the initial value after 24 hours of incubation at 35°C with RH > 95%.
    Another test was performed after one year on painted product samples against colonies of Staphylococcus Aureus, Escherichia Coli O 157 and Legionella Pneumophila bacteria, once again using the method described in standard ISO 22196: 2007 at the IMSL laboratories.
    All of the samples were kept in the dark at 20°C before performing the test.
    A sample of non-reinforced polystyrene was provided by IMSL as a reference.

     


    Table 1: activity against Staphylococcus Aureus
    It is evident that the number of the population of Staphylococcus aureus on the inert reference material decreased by approximately 59% during the first 24 hours of contact. A greater reduction by nearly 4 times the size below the measurement limit was observed in the population placed in contact with samples of the product after 1 year (sample 1) and compared with those treated with two different cleaning solvents (sample 2 and sample 3).

    It is evident that the population of Escherichia Coli O 157 increases marginally during the first 24 hours on the reference material. An over 4 times reduction was observed in the population placed in contact with samples of the product after 1 year (sample 1) and compared with those treated with two different cleaning solvents (sample 2 and sample 3).

    Table 3: activity against Legionella Pneumophila
    The table demonstrates how the population of Legionella pneumophila decreased by 1.3 times in size during the first 24 hours. A greater reduction by nearly 3 times that size was observed in the population placed in contact with samples of the product after 1 year (sample 1) and compared with those treated with two different cleaning solvents (sample 2 and sample 3).
